In a Zink mine in South Sweden. The mine - a maze of underground tunnels currently reaching 1170 meters. The villagers undertake the shift work which keeps the mine in production 24 hours a day and there is always a community of men and women working underground. This exploration, a place I felt drawn to, the underground being a strange and beguiling place. The sense of the traditional as generations follow in each other foot steps. This in conjunction with the modern aspects of mining, the technology used, improved working conditions and safety, this is not a sentimental project rather one of an industry and a village who has kept its place in the world despite the changing industrial landscape.
